How to GET more from your content?

Oh, you may be thinking like I know this. What is new??

Content is really important. I need to create it regularly bla bla bla…

No, I am not going to say that. It’s totally okay if you can’t generate it on regular bases.

Yes, I promise.

Because I know creating good content is expensive and time-consuming.

You are not alone I faced it too.

You are dealing with a limited team with a limited budget and your full-time option is not working out and you are not getting the right freelancer for you but you have other things to work on. And the list goes on and on.

I can understand.

No doubt content is the king but consistency is the queen.

And a king is incomplete without his queen.

But seriously for consistency, you don’t need to generate content on a regular basis.

Follow this “Create less get more

When I am saying create fewer means create less but make sure it is quality content and give the rest of your time to get more value from it.

So how are you going to do this? Let’s check out how you can get it.

  1. Create an audience persona
  2. Do content research.
  3. Make a calendar
  4. Content Promotion
  5. Content Repurposing
  6. Create an audience persona:

This is the first step of your content creation. Most of the bloggers or companies start writing content without this. Okay, let’s make it simpler.

Why you are writing blogs for you or for your audience. You should know them properly. Only then they will read your blogs.

Know about your target audience, their age group, what they like, their pain points, their struggles.

Trust me, it will help you to understand your audience.

And if you know your audience well, you can write in a way that makes them want to read. In this way, you can build a rapport with them.

Without this step, you will waste your efforts and resources.

1. Do Content Research

When you know about your audience, do research on the content topics.

What are the topics they want to know?

What are the keywords they are typing?

It will help you to select your blog topics.

You have to select the topics which can educate your audience and solve their problems.

Only then can you increase your website visits and leads. So how can you come up with great ideas?

Here are the steps to generate great content ideas:

  1. Download keyword everywhere tool.
  2. Use Google suggestions.
  3. Check out latest trends – USE GOOGLE TRENDS
  4. Use Answer the public tool.
  5. Ubersuggest
  6. Quora (Check Questions related to your topics, Check highest views and top answers)
  7. Use Buzzsumo
  8. Use SimilarWeb.
  9. Make a calendar

It can potentially save you a lot of time and also helps you to be consistent.

So plan out your content for all platforms for a month or at least a couple of weeks at a time. Your content calendar could be really simple, like an Excel spreadsheet or a Google document.

It’s the key to an organized content strategy.

2. Content Promotion

The success of CONTENT isn’t over when you press PUBLISH…It’s what you do after that!

No matter how good a writer you are if it can’t reach in front of your audience. It’s total waste.

We often create content but we forget it after that. Follow the 80-20 rule.

Give 20 percent of your time to create it and 80 percent time to promote it.

There are a lot of ways to promote your content and the list is growing. The key to successful content promotion is not just sticking to the same old methods that everyone else uses.

3. Content Repurposing

Give new life to your old content. Don’t let them die.

How much time did you spend to create the blog post?

1 hr.? 2hr? 3hr?

Or maybe more than that?

You researched a lot and gave it your 100%.

Are you done with your content once you post it?

You can reuse your old content and get the most out of them.

Yes! it is completely okay to do it.

Content repurposing requires altering a piece of content to make it fresh by changing the angle or switching up the format.

Reuse it to make a better and enhanced impact. So when you create a good piece of content do not stop after publishing.

Try to get more from your content and maintain consistency.
